bloody hell {gorgeous F-Troupe shoes}

Image
I think I'm going to have to forcibly ban myself from any further extended periods of internet access, I've bought no less than 6 pairs of shoes in the past month and I keep finding more that I want including all of these beauties from F-Troupe . Buttons. Victoriana. Star shaped brogue punch outs. Squishy leather and bouncy crepe soles. I can't take it anymore, I'm checking myself into shopping rehab. Adieu.

face rant

Image
Woe is me. Maybe it’s age or the change in season, perhaps a prolonged period of ill health accompanied by bucket loads of stress but my face seems to have lapsed into some sort of a congested bumpy, flaky, desiccated, big pored mess recently and I DON'T LIKE IT. I've been privileged enough to have had a very well behaved face for a very long time. Even through my torturous adolescence I scraped through with the minimal level of facial explosions, none of that hideous scarring or use of evil paint stripper style acne potions for me, just well behaved, even, dewy (or DOOEY as Penelope Cruise pleasingly puts it in those adverts) skin which has never really needed more than a minimal amount of coverage to looked reasonably human, leaving me to freely play with glittery eye shadow, flicky eyeliner and industrial amounts of lip gloss. As time wears on I’m aware of some fine lines around my eyes and slight drop in the ability to bounce back if I’ve been burning the candle at bot

sunshine pop

Image
I seem to have developed a strange affinity with yellow things recently - never really liked the colour much before, but somehow from nowhere I'm drawn to lemony hues, I'm even considering wearing it which is frankly unheard of, I wonder why? Anyway I really like the pops of sunshine dotted around this apartment. Used sparingly in an otherwise fairly monochrome palette it's chic, but still fun. Images via Swedish Elle Hem

loving mimi london bags

Image
As much as I'd love to regularly splurge half a months mortgage payment on purse it's just not a reality for me, and since my beloved Orla Kiely purse was stolen by some little toad earlier in the year I've been on a long search for a new perfect wallet and I think I've found it in this shiny little beauty above by Mimi Berry . It's not to big or small, has seperate zipped compartments for cash, change and cards and crucially for me isn't loaded with pointless clunky hardware causing it to take up too much room in my already overloaded handbag. I spent an embarrassingly long time deciding between whether to get the patent or grainy leather options and a further age agonising over sensible grown up black or brown or eye catching red or pink, but the 8 year old in me won so shiny pink it was and very satisfyingly it is too. Mimi Berry graduated from Central Saint Martins in London and specialises in beautifully crafted bags and purses all manufacture

more grey inspiration

via plush palate Love the mixture of texture and tone in this look. It's highly likely you'll find me floating about in variations of this outfit all Autumn, lovely.

a/w wish list {soft grey suede}

soft grey suede by ephemerette featuring suede boots Do you ever get weird crushes on a certain colour or fabric? Don't ask me why but at the moment I have it bad for grey suede shoes, in fact I've bought two pairs in the past week and if I track down the perfect platform court I might just buy another pair.  I have a tendency towards wearing a lot of black and the texture and colour of the velvety suede just works really well for me. Must diversify and actually but some shoes that'll work with the regular downpours we're starting to get in London though!

apropos of nothing

I'm just in love with all of the rich texture and colour in this picture...wonder if I can track down some mermaid-y green sequins to adorn something with? via Oh fashion models

a/w wish list {the coat list}

Perhaps it's something to do with the opportunity to start wearing proper clothes again after the summer spent wearing insubstantial layers. So coats.  I love coats. I have a cupboard full of them, such an easy way to add polish to whatever you're wearing, and with London's Jekyll and Hyde weather patterns it's necessary to have a few options to go with dependent on conditions and temperature. Here's a little edit of the styles I'm going for this season. Firstly, The Minimal (far left) I'm
