zara lunchtime buys

Image
I moved offices recently landing me about 2 minutes walk from a Zara store. I'm telling you it's not a good thing to be walking past it's welcoming doors several times a day - just too easy to pop in and purchase on a regular basis.  Here are two of my recent buys -  This lovely caramel and black zebra scarf , think it may be a contender to finally replace my beloved and now somewhat bedraggled leopard scarf which I've been doggedly wearing year round for I think probably a couple of years now. This Zara baby is the perfect size and weight to wear at anytime of the year dressed up or down. And yes I am a sucker for animal print, to the point where I regard them as neutrals to throw over everything now. Secondly this black satchel bag . Pure impulse buy. I definitely didn't need a new bag  having bought several already this season but I really like it's shape and it has some nice detailing including the braided straps, plus for a cheapie it's mad

red moss

I do like this old shot of la Moss in a Vivienne Westwood cardy. She makes the old school buttoned up cardigan, slick of red lipstick and glossy up-do look distinctly real rather than an elaborate retro pastiche. I was forced to wear a really scratchy horrible scarlet jumper to school when I was about 8 or 9 years old which I think has successfully put me off wearing anything red for life, shame our uniform wasn't designed by Mme Westwood eh?

This is not my car. When I was 17 years old my father bought me a provisional driving licence and gave me £50 towards getting some driving lessons. I shoved the licence in a drawer, palmed the cash and high tailed to Miss Selfridge to procure the loftiest platform boots I could find* and several varieties of iridescent space dust eye-shadow. You see I've never really had much interest in driving. I don't like the responsibility that comes with wielding a chunk of potentially lethal metal about, I'm not convinced my concentration levels are sharp enough to constantly look out for all of the lunatic drivers who seem to populate the roads and I could never see the point in spending immense amounts of cash on everything it takes to run a motor when I can walk, jump on a train or bus and be wherever I want very easily, with the added benefit of being environmentally friendly. People who love driving always go on about the freedom to be out on the open road...yada yada. M

I'm usually more of a cat person but...

I barrelled into Muji today to get a new notebook for work and sort of fell in love with this patchwork bulldog which is part of their Christmas collection (that time of the years again already?). Each one is made from a mixture of factory offcuts of tweeds and plaids so I'm guessing it's unlikely you'll come across two exactly the same. Love his little grumpy face- I have such a thing for grumpy looking animals.  They also have patchwork sausage dogs , and stripy cats made from reused yarn - For under £20 I think they'd make nice Xmas gifts, everyone needs a pet right?

no words

Image
Phew, I'm so busy I just can't seem to get the words out at the moment so instead I thought I'd post up some recent iPhone pictures.  1. Beautiful enormous Cathedral door in Lisbon, Portugal. 3. Nutty, golden sugar encrusted Praline Millefeuille a Laduree . 4.Missy taking a nap on my gloriously tacky leopard bedding from H&M Home . 5. Have no idea where I snapped this sunset but lovely no?  6. Snob restaurant in Lisbon, if you're ever in the vicinity go - a glamorous old school place which has been run for the past 40 years by the same charming pair of brothers who really put the gent into gentlemen.
